How it all started...
While we are a brand new church excited about moving to a brand new location, we are also rooted in history. We have been a body of believers known as First Baptist Inwood, since 1947, until 2011 when we became known as The Way at Inwood. During that time God has allowed us the privilege to serve the community of Inwood in many ways from ministering to the needs of our neighbors through events, benevolence, and prayer, to witnessing to the lost and seeing thousands of lives transformed by God's amazing grace.
One of the driving forces in the history of this congregation has been planting churches in Inwood and its surrounding communities for one purpose. To insure everyone had a place to hear, learn, connect and grow in their faith. Then 30 years ago God created a vision in the heart of the people to move to a brand new location and start that process all over again. So 18 acres was purchased 6 miles south of the church in Inwood to begin this quest. Although much, time, energy, effort, and prayer had been wrought to accomplish that dream the Inwood family encountered one obstacle after another and the church was never able to move forward. However, after many years and changes had occurred the church never lost hope, nor did they abandoned the vision God gave them so many years ago.

Expanding the vision...
Finally in 2019 God began to answer the prayers of His people. First by sending a new leader with the same heart, the same dream, the same passion and the same convictions. Namely to grow in Christ as individuals and to impact the world by making Jesus known across the street, across the State and across the seas. Under the leadership of our new pastor Dr. Chris, and the new teams God has established this 30 year old dream is becoming a reality.
Where we are headed...
To begin this process we decided to take a step of obedience and change our name to one that aligned with our vison, passion, and mission. So, on March 14th 2021 we voted to become GRACEWAY COMMUNITY CHURCH, with our emphasis on Showing Grace to Make Disciples. It is our intention to not be just a church in the community but to BE the church TO the community. That regardless of where you are, or where you have been we can take the next step in our faith journey together.
Over the next year we will start the building process on Thornhill Rd. just off of Spirit Lake Rd. However, that doesn't mean we will be waiting to BE a part of this community. We are currently planning events and preparing ministries in order to meet our new neighbors and they can discover who we are and that there is a place where real grace is the only way to live.
